Twilight Storytellers: Short Movie Reviews Series - Part 1: The Groundskeeper

Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to start a new week-long series that feature's the new Twilight Storytellers Short movies. Every day this week, I'm going to dissect each short movie, and at the end of the week, we can all vote for our favorite by August 3rd. Let's jump into the first one!

Our first video is "The Groundskeeper" by Nicole Eckenroad. It is described as a closer look to the life of Alice Cullen before she became a vampire, but I think that it shows a closer look to Alice's vampire friend and the groundskeeper of the asylum, Kunbo (that's probably misspelled), and to be honest, I found that refreshing.

I have to say, overall, I really enjoyed this short film. I think that the music was a daring choice. The opening music reminded me of an old western, and the song they picked for Kunbo's death was reminiscent of the era. I think the actors did a pretty good job, although the actress playing Victoria was a little strange. The effects were pretty cool, especially when Kunbo is taking Alice out of the asylum. I found the split-screen a cool choice, and Alice's visions of the future were quite spectacular. I thought that the asylum was pretty considering I had always pictured it a more claustrophobic, unkempt place. The ending credits seemed a little unfinished, but again, overall, I thought the film was pretty good.

Well that's the end to the first of the reviews. Come back tomorrow for my review of "Turncoats."
