Update - A Look Back at 2015

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I here to take a look back at 2015. We done a lot this year, we've read a lot of good books, did a few cosplays, and even graduated college. But there's still a lot ahead of us. More books to read. More classes to take. Hopefully, a few jobs to work. But today has also reminded me a lot of things. Today, was perhaps one of the worst days I've had. I woke up feeling less than a 100%. I got really homesick, to the point that felt the need to cry fifteen minutes before my shift. I couldn't get anything to go right at work, including getting sick. I messed up and felt utterly useless. But then I came home, got some food, talked to a few friends, and it felt like everything was going to be okay. So I got to thinking, I've been told that I'm too young, too old, too naive, too smart, too cute, too ugly, too much of a girl, too much of a boy, too trusting, and too careless. And yes, all of those attributes do describe me, and tha

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff - Book Review!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to review Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff! I know it's been a full week since the last post, but I took an unexpected holiday, and I wasn't able to keep up with the blog. But I promise to be back more this week. Now, Illuminae is not your ordinary book. Instead of traditional storytelling, the story is portrayed through government files that is centered on an attack of a mining planet. But enough about that, let's get onto the review! So, as I stated in the intro, this story is not told through traditional methods. Instead of a traditional narrative, the book consists of files that have been put together by "unknown" persons (at least at the beginning) to tell of the tragedy that befell a small mining planet when an enemy mining corporation invaded the planet. However, the story does follow two main characters Kady and Ezra, who broke up the morning of the invasion, but as the story progresses, they ha

Update - Things Are Crazy!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to tell you that things are crazy at work. In case you weren't in the know, I work at my local movie theater, and if you've been living under a rock, Star Wars: the Force Awakens has officially hit theaters. That means everyone and their grandmother is at the theater watching the movie. This means I've got a crazy amount of hours and very little me time. Things may be a little sketchy for the next few days, but I'll be putting out new content as soon as possible. Also, send out some good vibes because I'm hoping for Christmas off.  That's going to be it for this post! Comment down below with some things that you would like to see on the blog! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - Trailer Reaction

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to react to a movie trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a new movie that features the world of Harry Potter but focused in 1920s New York. It features Newt Scamander, author of the textbook for Care of Magical Creatures, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them , and his adventures with magical creatures.  But enough about that, let's get onto the trailer! Like always, I'm going to put the trailer below with my comments under it. Let's get started! The music is so soft in the beginning. It makes me want to lean in and touch it.  Spells! I've missed spells! It's so pretty! Alright, it seems like there's a council and the infamous trunk.  It's going to be here next here! They are dressed very interestingly... I wonder who the lady is... She's got a fancy hat. The scales look so cool! I wonder how all of the creatures are going to look.... Unfortunately so

Beyond the Shadowhunters - What We Know Now: Trailer Reaction?

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to analyze Beyond the Shadows - The Making of Shadowhunters, which originally premiered on ABC Family December 6. However, if you are like me and missed it on television, you can still catch up and analyse it for yourself on platforms like Hulu and Youtube. It's available on Hulu without a subscription, and you can "buy" it on YouTube. I use the quotation marks because it costs $0.00, which is literally nothing. Anyway, I'm going to be analyzing the show, and I will try to figure out what we can expect come January. Just so you know, these may be considered spoilers for the show. If you're not into that, then don't read! Also, you can click on each picture to get a bigger version of it.  Now, on to the analyzing! The first little snippet I caught was the bus featuring "Demonic Murders," which I'm guessing is a case that Luke (who is now a police officer) is working on and the event that brings a

Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins - Book Review: School Edition!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to review Another Roadside Attraction  by Tom Robbins. This is one of the novels that I'm reading for my America in Revolt literature class. It contains a motley crew of characters that find themselves in philosophic debate and in possession of a rather important spiritual "artifact." But enough about that. Let's get onto the review. Guys, when I began reading this novel, I was really enjoying it. From the very beginning you get an idea of how the book is going to go. You have characters with ridiculous but very interesting background and points of view. The sequence of events is not told through a linear order, and the main plot of the story was often interrupted with philosophic debate that didn't ever end in a winner. But if you think about it, that's usually how philosophic debates typically end up. But back to the point, I was really enjoying the novel. The symbolism was crazy yet still made sense with

Get the Look! - Bella's Tan Coat

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to help you get the look! Basically, this segment on the blog is about achieving the look that we've seen on the big screen. It's not necessarily the whole look, but a post may contain one or two key pieces that will help you achieve that look. For this post, I'm doing Bella's tan coat that can be seen in both Twilight and New Moon. So, let's get started! Now, I've been looking for a similar jacket since the first movie came out in theaters. I found one on Cosplaysky.com, but I never actually bought it. As you can see, they copy it straight from the movie, which is great for accuracy, but it comes at a price. It's $96 and it take about a month to make, plus two weeks for processing and shipping. It looks like a great quality jacket, but there's a lot of concern, at least on my end, about measurements and how the end product will actually fit. Then I bought another jacket from an Asian website, and I

December To Be Read - List!

Image
December To Be Read - List! by kk-donna-blog featuring home decor Hello, everyone! I'm back, and it's that time of the month. Yes, it's time to decide what we'll (and by "we'll" I mean me) will read this month! Now, Last month didn't go so well, at least when it came to finishing up the TBR list. But I have a good feeling for this month! There's a lot of good things happening! So, let's get started! Now, a few of these will be repeats of last month's TBR list, but I'm determined to finish them, which is why I have Illuminae  by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff on this list. It was last month's book of the month for Booksplosion. It's gotten a lot of good feedback from some of my favorite Booktubers. So, I'll be working on this book this month. This next book is this month's book of the month for Booksplosion, and I'm very excited. It's Winter by Marissa Meyer, and it's the fourth book in th
