Shades of Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon - Book Review!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to review Shades of Doon by Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon. It is the third book of the Doon series, and it continues the story of Veronica and Mackeena who have made it back to Doon, but don't seem to be able to stay there. Something is trying to eject them from Doon, and they are succeeding. But enough about that, let's get onto the review! Again, two points of view that switch every chapter is annoying. We get it again in this book, and at some points, I rather have a point of view back in Doon. But that's all I'm going to say about it. I also had a problem with them spending so much time in our dimension. I like Doon. I like the possibilities that Doon can provide, which is why I get sad when we have to go back to the real world. I have to admit that I did appreciate it when we did get a little character development while we were there, but I found some of the scenes to be a bit superfluous. There was a bit too muc...

Shadowhunters TV: New Videos and What We Know Now - News! (P.S. There Will Be Spoilers!)

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to catch you up on all the information we learned this past weekend when the Shadhunters TV crew arrived at NYCC (New York City Comic-Con). We've gotten a lot of new videos, including a teaser trailer which I reviewed last week (you can find it here ), and we've also received a date for when to expect the first episode for the new series. So let's get started! So the first episode will air January 12 on the then Freeform (which is now called ABC Family) at 9 pm ET following Pretty Little Liars. I'm actually surprised we're getting it this early in the year, but hey, I'm not complaining. We're also getting a little documentary-type "segment" on the E! network titled "Making of Shadowhunters" on December 6. This may be a show or just a small piece of the E! News television show, but I'm excited to see what they will show considering how close I've been following the making of Shado...

Shadowhunters TV - Teaser Trailer Reaction!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to react to the new teaser trailer for the new tv show Shadowhunters! It just dropped at NYCC (that's New York City Comic Con, if you're not in the know), and people are freaking out (as they should)! I haven't seen it yet. So, all the comments that you see down below is my first reaction and thoughts about the video. I'm sure we won't get a lot considering its a "teaser" trailer, but it's still the first video that we've seen that had the actual characters in it. But enough about that. Let's get onto the reaction! If you haven't seen one of my reaction posts before, let me break it down for you. I am going to post all of my comments under the video as they pop into my head. That way you'll be able to follow along with my randomness. I'll admit it. The first couple of scenes (the candle part) did give me the giggles. Magnus is a bawler. Like a legit bawler. He's got his...

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey - Book Review: School Edition!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to review One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next  (or as I refer to it as, OFOTCN) by Ken Kesey. Short summary: it's about a guy who is institutionalized but doesn't back down from authority. In case you haven't guessed, this causes a whole lot of shenanigans. But enough about that. Let's get onto the review! So as some of you know, I wasn't too impressed with Keroauc's One the Road , and I took that as a bad omen about what I would think about the other books in my American Literature of Rebellion class. After reading OFOTCN, I had to smack myself silly and remind myself that I should not judge a book on its cover, or in this case, genre. That's right. I love this book . A the end of the novel, I felt like I was twisted up in a ball of yarn that a cat had played with for two hours. I was committed (no pun intended), and I actually connected with the characters despite their flaws or supposed mental instabil...

Twilight's 10th Anniversary Edition with a Twist! - News!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to report some exciting news! In case you haven't heard, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer turns ten this year, and with it comes a 10th Anniversary Edition of our beloved (though heavily bashed) book. However, that isn't the exciting part. The exciting part comes with a whole different side to the story. Included with the original Twilight story, the 10th Anniversary Edition comes with Life and Death , which is a genderbent Twilight . Let's talk about it. Shall, we? If you don't know what gender-bending is, basically it's switching the genders of the characters. You see it sometimes on tumblr with pictures of Disney princesses as the prince and vice versa. What it means for Twilight is that Bella becomes Beufort and Edward becomes Edythe. Yes, those are the new names, and yes, I did laugh for a good while before settling down. I also learned that many of the other characters will also be gender-swapped with the excepti...

Mockingjay Part 2 Final Trailer - Trailer Reaction!

Image
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to do another trailer reaction to the final trailer for Mockingjay Part 2. In case you haven't guessed yet, I'm very excited about this movie. I can't wait to see how they interpret the final moments of the book, and from what I understand, we may be seeing a bit of the epilogue, which has me twitching in my seat with anticipation. But enough about that. Let's get onto the trailer! Like I've done with my other trailer reaction posts, I will be posting commentary below the video that goes along with the video. Enjoy! The music makes me want to cry! Or maybe it's the sisters! Or that it's the last movie! I don't know! I'm liking the drums. They make my heart beat erratically. Also, I love it when she yells, and having it set to the drums is a nice touch.  Okay, we get more of her speech, and you can tell how angry she is. It's amazing.  The mutts!!!! Holy crap! I wasn't ...
