Top Ten Authers That I Really Need to Read - Also Known as My List of Shame
Hello, everyone! I'm back, and I'm here to list the top ten authors that I haven't read but really need to read. To be honest, there are more than ten authors that I need to read, but I think putting my entire 'To Be Read' list would be a little extreme. I was inspired by Christine's list that she made and posted to Youtube, which you can find here. Part of me feels a little ashamed showing this, but after watching Christine's, I felt better about my own list. That made me think that other people probably had their own list. But enough about that. Let's get onto the list!
Now this is just shameful, but I have yet to read anything my Rick Riordan, specifically the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Considering how much I enjoy Greek mythology, I'm surprised by how long I've waited to read his books. But it is definitely high on my list.
Again, I'm surprised I haven't read this author just from shear awesomeness alone. It's Marie Lu, the author of the Legend series. I mean, it's legendary. That was a terrible pun, but the truth still stands.
Another popular author I haven't read yet is Kiera Cass. Her Selection series is so popular, and nearly every Booktuber has read it. It makes me feel like I'm behind the times. But I am working on it!
Next up is Ransom Riggs. I can tell you why I haven't read any of his works, and it's because I think that I would be terrified the entire time. But I'm seeing how much other people are liking his work, and his book Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is going to become a movie. I'm ready to delve in.
I have to mention Rainbow Rowell. Fangirl alone should make me feel ashamed that I haven't read anything by her. I have to admit all of the shame. But, I'm hoping to read her books soon!
I actually follow the next author on twitter, but I haven't read any of her books. Don't get me wrong. I've wanted to, but one thing or another has held me back. And not reading her books forced me into missing the pilot of the TV series based on it. That's right. It's Lauren Oliver of the Delirium Trilogy. It is definitely happening soon.
I have (I think) all of the following author's books. So, it makes it that much more shameful that I haven't read anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout. The preface of her novels sound really cool, which makes me more upset. But that's why she's on my 'To Be Read' list.
Richard Yancey makes this list, but I have the feeling that he will soon be off this list due to The Fifth Wave movie that will be out next year. So watch out!
One series and author that has been been in the Young Adult news and makes me feel all the shame is Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. It's been on my list for a while, but now the series is going to be read by me before the show comes out come hell or high water.
Lastly, I have to say that this is the most shameful. I haven't read anything of J. R. R. Tolkien. At first, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit didn't seem like they were for me. It seemed like his books were something that my brother would have liked more than me. Now, I feel like I've missed out, and I really need to start reading these goodies.
